Among them will be Sheng-Yuan Huang, founder of the Taiwanese practice Fieldoffice Architects. Almost all of Fieldoffice Architects’ projects are located in the regional city of Yilan, Taiwan, where the practice strives to build an “imaginary eco-paradise of interconnected life […] where there is no central theme and no urgency in demanding that future development should conform to a fixed and inflexible master plan.”

Also speaking will be architect Eleena Jamil from Malaysia, who will give a keynote on her approcach to architecture that combines natural local resources, cultural patterns and modern building techniques. Her practice, Eleena Jamil Architect, has had projects published widely in international press and has been shortlisted for awards such as the World Architecture Festival Award, the Italian Plan Award, the LEAF Award and the American Architecture Prize.

Boonserm Premthada, the founder of Bangkok Project Studio, will give a keynote addressing how she uses locally produced and handmade materials that are cheap and strong to save cost and make construction easier. “By doing this, my works help to preserve communities’ legacies,” she says.
