For the traditionalist drawn to spark and flame, the EW5000 from Escea Fireplaces provides a wood fire that users can cook on, as well as bask in front of. Escea constructed the firebox of high-quality 4 mm thick steel; this outdoor barbecue fire needs to be enclosed in non-combustible masonry, stone, concrete, or brickwork.
Escea has an optional ready-to-build steel frame enclosure (KSE), which can be finished with a suitable fireproof material of the user’s choice. The kitset enclosure is suitable for outdoor areas that don’t have an existing structure. It can be assembled and then covered with a waterproof backing board and fire-rated cladding. The assembled structure dimensions are 1,800 mm × 1,200 mm × 600 mm.
The EW5000 wood fireplace comes with an adjustable cooking plate, which can be stored under the ash pan when not needed. The plate can be placed at three different heights to regulate heat.
For traditionalists, the EW5000 outdoor wood fire can be installed without a fascia, flush or recessed into a non-combustible fire surround.
