Stramit’s unique roof lap joint systems, MonoLap and FarLap, are designed to create efficient, durable roofing solutions.
When combined with Stramit Monoclad roof cladding, the MonoLap roof lap joint system enables sheeting installation over uniformly sized purlins located in a single uniform plane, regardless of the total roof run lengths, provided the length is within normal drainage capacity limits.
The MonoLap system can be installed by placing it onto the bottom sheet so that the system’s enlarged holes push into the ribs. The overlapping sheet is then placed over the MonoLap units and screwed through both layers to provide support.
Stramit FarLap is used exclusively with Stramit Speed Deck Ultra concealed fixed decking and allows for lapped sheets to be installed on standard purlin framing. The FarLap system is installed by clipping onto the bottom sheet’s ribs. The overlapping top sheet is pushed onto the Stramit FarLap units, providing a structural connection.
Both systems remove the need for traditional step joints or on-site roll forming, without compromising the roof’s integrity. The joint connectors and sealing foam are made of high technology materials to provide strength and weather-resistance, preserving the existing roofing warranty.
Stramit’s FarLap and MonoLap can also be used in conjunction with the Stramit SkyLap or Monosky joints to create translucent roof sheeting.
