The 2015 NSW Landscape Architecture Awards were announced by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects on 11 September.
McGregor Coxall’s Parramatta City River Strategy, developed in partnership with Parramatta City Council, took out the top gong on the night. The jury commended the project for its scope “which not only reactivates the Parramatta River corridor, it also cleverly connects it to the City Centre through a sequence of open spaces, access ways and structured ‘quarters,’” said the jury.
In all, 17 projects have been recognized by the jury. Three projects were also awarded the People’s Choice: UTS Alumni Green by Aspect Studios, Wylde Mountain Bike Trail by GroupGSA in collaboration with Western Sydney Parklands Trust, and the Cronulla Esplanade and Seawall upgrade by Sutherland Shire Council – Design Services.
