Almost two dozen entries were submitted to the Australian Institute of Architects for the NSW Country Division awards, which have celebrated the works by architects in regional New South Wales since 1960.
The shortlist of the 2022 awards includes a diverse selection of projects from an agri-tourism disability enterprise to a boutique farm stay.
Jury chair Noel Thomson said high-quality architecture in regional areas helps to encourage social connections within a town. “As the custodians of the built environment, architects are well-placed to deliver projects that increase these bonds and lift our regional areas,” said Thomson. “These awards showcase the excellent architecture being developed in regional areas.”
The 2022 NSW Country Division Architecture Awards jury comprised chair Noel Thomson of Noel Thomson Architecture, Carly Martin of Akimbo Architecture, Louisa Gee of Louisa Gee Architects, David Holm of Cox Architecture, and Jared Grace of Sam Crawford Architects.
Winners will be announced on October 14 on the Institute’s YouTube channel. The shortlisted projects are:
