Em Be Ce has won the invited design excellence competition for a 27-storey mixed-use development on Sydney’s Lower North Shore.
To be located at 3–5 Help Street in Chatswood, the project will form the southern edge of a cluster of towers in the area.
A two-storey podium will accommodate 2,000 square metres of commercial and retail space, while the tower above will contain a range of apartments.

An elevated 575-square-metre park on top of podium will provide residents with a communal area with multiple zones.
“In response to COVID, we wanted to create a space where residents can go out for a run or work outside their home without having to leave the building,” said Em Be Ce co-director Ben Green.
The building will be set back 4.5 metres, which will create an expanded public domain along Cambridge Lane. The project will also include series of other private and communal gardens throughout the building.
The jury for the competition said the proposal would create “a strong urban marker for the precinct,” integrating with the neighbourhood “in a nuanced manner.”
