The Queensland University of Technology is hosting CreateX on 28 August, a technology-infused festival of creativity that will launch the new Creative Industries Precinct at Kelvin Grove campus designed by Richard Kirk Architect and Hassell.
The festival will incorporate design, performance, fashion, music and interactive and visual media.
More than 60 interactive performances and events are scheduled for the day including:
- Immersive interactive games
- Grow your own clothing using fermented kombucha curds (“vegan leather”)
- Virtual reality, films and augmented reality
- Robots and performances
- Demonstrations, installations, tours and workshops
- Talks and panels
- Music and fashion parades
The festival commences at 10am on Sunday 28 August and closes with an official opening ceremony performance from 6pm–7pm. Kate Miller-Heidke, Carrita Farrar-Spencer and dancer Michelle Ryan will perform.
The event is free with some workshops requiring a fee.
