Australian Tapestry Workshop: Bailleu Myer and Sarah Myer Trainee Weaver scholarships

The Australian Tapestry Design Workshop is offering two scholarships to train two artists in tapestry weaving.

The two scholarship recipients will undergo a broad range of training in weaving techniques as well as aesthetics, design, public programs, exhibitions and appreciation of contemporary art and history of tapestry.

These scholarships will provide an opportunity for arts or design graduates to be trained by some of Australian’s leading tapestry weavers in the art of tapestry weaving at the renowned Australian Tapestry Workshop. The skills of a good production weaver take many years to develop.

Each Scholarship is for a two-year period and will pay the successful trainees $38,500 each per annum. Tapestry weaving skills are not a pre-requisite for these trainee scholarships.

The ATW operates the Tapestry Design Prize for Architects (TDPA), the world’s only international tapestry design competition for architects.

Entries close on 24 January. For more information, go here.
